Cinnamon Lee’s jewellery is characterised by cunning concepts and technical trickery. She is continually fascinated by the role technology plays in human evolution and seeks out ways new tools can augment her traditional craft skills to produce jewellery that expresses a sense of ‘futuristic elegance.’ Her innovative approach to setting gems has become a signature design feature that sets her work apart, and means that her wedding and engagement rings are renowned for their sophisticated marriage of romance and engineering.
While her technical prowess challenges the conventions of jewellery design, Lee’s concepts also confront predefined ideas of preciousness and value. A self-confessed covert romantic, she delights in the potential of jewels to operate as subtle accents on the body, rather than ostentatious statements, so notions of concealment and veiled meanings are ongoing themes explored throughout her work.
In her role as a custom jeweller, Lee takes pride in knowing that the objects she makes carry great value, not only in their material form, but more importantly in their ability to transport stories about both maker and wearer to future generations. In observing that, “jewellery has the intimate ability to not only move us, but to move with us,” Lee considers such objects as the perfect medium for creating portable vessels in which to invest personal sentiments and private meanings.

Her custom wedding and engagement rings are made to order and available exclusively from Courtesy of the Artist Custom located in Sydney’s iconic Strand Arcade. Cinnamon chooses to use locally sourced Australian gemstones and materials wherever possible and her innovative approach to gem setting has become a signature feature of her designs.
